About Us

The Anglesey symposium first started in 1983. The event was hosted by Nigel Dennis and Frank Goodman and was known as the Nordkapp meet. This was a simple event that was designed to help promote sea kayaking and was free to all owners of VCP (Valley Canoe Products sea kayaks). The event has always been held on the first bank holiday in May.

The event grew and was developed into the Anglesey Sea Kayak symposium, and now attracts sea kayakers from around the world. The aims of the event is to promote safe sea kayaking and provide a good standard of coaching for the intermediate to advanced kayaker.

Over the years many have helped, an event like this could not run without the support of accomplished kayakers and other interested parties. We would like to take this opportunity of thanking all who have been involved over the years.
